The Chase Band is often voted the BEST band for Weddings, Galas, and Corporate Events in South Florida! The band consists of SIX core pieces or members: Merv, Erin and Daryl up front as lead vocalists; Wayne and Steve on Guitar, Bass or Keyboards; and Dave on Drums. A total of 6 (six) entertainers is the minimum.
Option: ADD Horns to the band. We have 3 horn players who work with us regularly. Trumpet, Sax/Flute, and Trombone. Add as many as your budget allows – the more horns, the better the sound. Horns are especially important on Sinatra, American Songbook and the older, classic R&B and funky, soul music.

Performing at world-class venues for more than 30 years, Steve Chase, has played more celebrity weddings / parties than any other bandleader in America! As Master of Ceremonies, he has few rivals. Steve has an MBA from Florida Atlantic, is a member of the prestigious MENSA organization, and has a wall full of awards for community service to South Florida’s charitable organizations. In the 70’s, he was staff guitarist and bassist at TK Records, in Miami, where he played on dozens of hit recordings by the label’s artists such as KC & the Sunshine Band, Betty Wright, Foxy, Peter Brown and Benny Latimore. As a partner of Richard Frankel, Steve has produced dozens of hit Broadway shows including Jersey Boys, Stomp, Boy From Oz, The Producers, Young Frankenstein and many, many more.

Performing constantly for over a decade, Erin has entertained at all of the top venues of South Florida, including some of the most prestigious hotels, clubs and upscale parties. Erin’s personal singing styles range from contemporary artists such as Pink and Rihanna to the classic ladies of soul, including Etta James and Aretha Franklin. Her sexy on stage persona combined with Merv Thompson’s dynamic vocal stylings have made for a spectacular live team of unequalled excitement.

Merv has been a South Florida treasure since he began performing at the age of 16. Entertaining with a passion and vocal ability reminiscent of the Greats of Motown and Philly, he is truly a vocalist of extraordinary talent. As a featured studio singer during the heyday of Miami’s legendary TK Recording Studio, he sang on dozens of chart topping hits and contributed his vocal arranging and producing skills too. His warm and friendly stage persona and unmatched vocal skills have made him one of the most in demand entertainers in the nightclub and corporate event arena.

As musical director of one of South Florida’s most popular nightclub bands for two decades, Wayne has performed at most every top venue. Specializing in a high-energy dance and pop repertoire with a professional presentation that few acts can match. In addition to his live performance career, Wayne has also worked on recording and producing with such world renowned artists as Pink, Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), Richie Sambora (Bon-Jovi) and even Les Paul! Wayne’s publishing through BMI has sucessfully placed many of his original music compositions into current movies and hit televison shows in recent years.

David
From churches to night clubs to stadiums, David is a south Florida native who has been playing in local settings of all sizes for many years. He is a self taught drumming musician with a complimentary style whose diverse musical influences include the classic rock of Jethro Tull and the vintage jazz of Thelonious Monk. David has developed a simple yet distinctive feel that has become an integral part of the band’s compelling live performance.

Daryl
Daryl was the featured star in casino show-bands all over New York, Connecticut and the northeast for the last 30 years before coming to Florida in 2010. He was named 2000’s Best New Artist for Children, has won the Children’s Music Web Awards, and has been honored twice by the Legislature with a distinguished citizen award for his community involvement. In addition to his singing and dancing skills, Daryl brings a BIG stage personality to each and every event that will entertain, delight, and involve your guests!

All three of our young horn players have graduated University of Miami and have Master’s degrees in performance! The sizzling hot, Chase Horns add a dramatic and powerful element to our performance. Sultry Sax solos during dinner set the mood for an elegant, conversation-driven main course at your affair. Our horn players have worked in the Miami studios and on the road with such acts as: Ricky Martin, Gloria Estefan, Barry Gibb (BeeGees), Cher, Shakira, Beyonce, and Enrique Inglesias and his famous dad, Julio. We have even been called the BEST HORN BAND in Florida by New Times magazine!
